The Old Bridge House is situated just off the end of the West Looe side of the bridge, with a good aspect over the Harbour. Far enough out of the centre to be quiet in the evenings and at night, yet no more than 100 yards from the town itself.
The historic fishing village of Looe is the first resort town you reach as you enter Cornwall and as such makes a marvellous base to explore the rest of the county and also gives good access to places such as Bodmin moor and Dartmoor which are both rich in history. Looe itself holds many points of interest, some very good woodland and coastal walks for the intrepid, boat trips for fishing or to the island, around the bay or off on day trips to other villages further down the coast.
There are some very good and clean beaches around for when the days are hot, and plenty of things to do when the weather is not so good, lots of National Trust houses to visit, The Eden Project, Flambards village and theme park, Lands End (which is also a theme park) and there are big aquariums in Plymouth and Newquay, both of which are just a short drive away. For the evening there are dozens of good bistros and restaurants and plenty of cosy little bars with some very colourful and friendly locals.
