What our guests have to say
Vicky & Simon from Cardiff in June 2018
We spent a beautiful weekend at The Old Bridge House, our room was immaculate, the breakfast choice and service superb. The owners Liz and Colin were marvellous hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. The view from the balcony over the estuary is stunning so we spent plenty of time there watching the world go by. We spent most of our time in Looe but also took a rib boat ride to Polperro for an afternoon which we would also thoroughly recommend to anyone it was great fun.
Dan & Victoria from Cheshire in May 2015
We stayed at the Old Bridge House last week and we had a lovely time. The place is kept immaculately clean, the rooms are cosy and ours offered a stunning view of the harbour. The breakfast menu was amazingly varied for a B&B and Colin and Liz were extremely attentive and a joy to be around. We would recommend this gorgeous B&B to anyone and we will definitely return many a time.
Joanne from Stourbridge in January 2015

Greetings from HOT Melbourne. Ken & I (Sylvia) would like to wish you & your family a very joyful Christmas and that 2012 will bring exciting opportunities of creating an awesome year for you all.
Ken & I still recall the truly great- albeit short- time we spent in Looe; especially at your b&b and all the effort you go to,to make guests welcome & comfortable. In fact Yours is the best b&b we have ever stayed in! We both hope to visit you in Looe again, but next time we will stay a lot longer & tour all of Cornwall.
Also I believe my Uncle & Aunt( Ian & Karin Rawlings ) may have booked in to your place around the end of next summer.
Thank you again for making our time in Looe so lovely
Cheers to you both

If you want first class Gold Award service, excellent accommodation & friendly proprietors, (who went beyond the call of duty to accommodate our needs), look no further than The Old Bridge House. The breakfasts were of gourmet qualities with a vast selection. The room was beautifully clean, with pristine linen & a vast selection of toiletries & a well stocked complimentary tray. We had previously stayed in 5 star accommodation again in Looe - but the Old Bridge House was far superior. We were sorry to be leaving.Best wishes to you both.

This is an absolutely cracking hotel! Absolutely charming and with bags of character, just like the owners Liz and Colin, who make you feel extremely welcome and do their level best to look after you. The room was lovely and the bathroom so immaculate you'd swear it'd only been fitted the day before. As for the breakfasts, well let's just say they're worth the trip alone, and perfect fuel for that walk along the coastal path to Polperro!

This was our fouth stay at The Old Bridge House (15-18 August 2010).
As always, the welcome, food and accommodation were first class. Really can't imagine staying anywhere else - we have been spoiled by the attention to detail at TOBH and doubt that anywhere else could meet the exacting standards of TOBH.
We will be back - can't wait!
Thanks Liz and Colin.
Kieran Knowles from Orpington Kent in August 2010
I have to say that the hotel was absolutely outstanding. The owners Colin and Liz were the perfect hosts and were very welcoming at the time of arrival. I thought that the breakfast was very nice and yummy, great variety of breakfast choices. The room was very clean and big which was very nice. The ensuite bathroom was very modern and very clean also. Nice hospitality trays in the room and ensuite. I'd definatelt stay at the hotel again.
Teresa & Mick Heavey in August 2010
Hi Colin & Liz,
Thanks very much for ensuring we had a very relaxing & comfortable 4 days.
It goes without saying that everything was spot-on.
The thing that stood out the most was all the neat little touches that make for total relaxation. This is something that bigger [supposedly] professional Hotels still seem to make a mess of all too often. as we found out on our way home via Bournemouth !!!
The supposedly simple things are all too easily messed up by many establishments, but you don't miss out on anything; a prime example being the excellent welcome - & an equally tasty & well presented cappuccino on our arrival.
The eating out advice was also welcome.
We will definitely be returning & letting our friends, relatives [& business acquaintances] also know all about your Hotel especially the ones who enjoy a superb breakfast.
Best Wishes to you both
Teresa & Mick Heavey

Dear Liz & Colin,
I thought it necessary that I should E Mail you following my stay.
Your guest house was most comfortable, (especially the bed), the breakfast sublime, and would put most hotels to shame, the room facilities excellent, and the hospitality top drawer.

Hi Liz & Colin
All the guest book comments are very true which should make you feel realy proud of The Old Bridge House. Thank you for making our 4 day stay so memorable. We liked everything about The Old Bridge from its location, our lovely room, the cosy lounge bar, the wonderful breakfasts (the bacon really is top class!)the picture popstcard views and of course Liz & Colin. We should have been in Portugal but the volcanic ash put paid to that but what a bonus Looe turned out to be. We must return because Chris wants to buy a clock for her sisters special wedding anniversary! Best regards Arthur & Chris

Hi Everyone at The Old Bridge House,
I would like to say thank you for making Mum and Dads stay for their Pearl wedding Anniversary so special. They were made to feel welcome from the moment they arrived.
Mum said the hotel was spotless (and anyone who knows my mum knows that that is a big compliment).
The food they said was faultless and the presentation was picture perfect. They will definitely be returning and bringing other family members with them.
The webcam was a big hit too I had regular phone calls from them telling me too log on and there they were waving to me. Thank you again and best wishes to you all. Katie.x

We stayed for two nights in December 2008. Our only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer. From the point of arrival we were welcomed like old friends. Breakfast was just like the view from the bedroom window....brill, and the weather was just like when we were last in Looe in July.......wet and cold.
Thank you Colin & Liz we will definitely return.

Just wanted to drop you a little note to say how much we enjoyed our stay in your hotel, being honest neither of us had stayed in smaller hotels - tending through work to always be placed in national chains - but your has won us over to the warmth of the hospitality and the the atmosphere, hopefully we will return in the not too distant future,
Debby Wiseman from Mandurah, Western Australia in September 2008
An ideal location to explore Cornwall and for those of you without a car, you can get around using public transport quite well from Looe. Colin and Liz treated us like family and I would recommend The Old Bridge House as a relaxing, comfortable and affordable 'home away from home'.
PS Colin: We thought the heart shaped toast was just for us!
Chris and Graeme from Sheffield in July 2008
We had an enjoyable 4 day break in the Old Bridge House Hotel.Liz and Colin made us feel very welcome.A good idea to have an 'honesty box' bar for buying drinks.Good location for the town centre and exploring further afield with a lovely view from our bedroom.
Well cooked beakfasts using excellent locally sourced bacon. The 'heart shaped toast' was a bonus reserved for specal guests so I was told.

Dear Liz and Colin
We really did not want to come home on Friday and would have been happy to stay longer. 4 days was not enough.
Your guest house is in a great central position with lots to see in the harbour from our bedroom window. The rooms are well equipped and spotless. (I know because I dropped a very small earring stud and had to perform a fingertip search under the bed!) And what a great breakfast. Had a super holiday in Looe, not least because of this splendid accommodation and hope to return one day soon.

We had the most wonderful time this past weekend, The Oldbridge House not only met but far exceeded the expectations built up by the website. The room was fantastic with an incredible view and although our waistlines are not complaining our tastebuds are, at not having one of those wonderful full Engilsh breakfasts this morning. We will certainly be returning early next year but staying for much longer then a weekend, we shall also be letting our friends and family know about The Oldbridge House for when they next visit Cornwall. Thank you again for making our stay in Looe so special and we hope to see you again very soon.
Barry and Martyn.

Our stay at the Old Bridge House was most enjoyable. We were welcomed to the house which is in a superb location with great views and perfect for absorbing the atmosphere of the town, the coast and Cornwall. The rooms were very well appointed and spotless. Colins cooked breakfasts are the most superb I have ever had, and that was an inventive treat; sticking a candle in sausage on my birthday. Thanks for great stay, if back in Looe we wouldn't consider staying else where, so long as we can get in.
Paul thompson from United Kingdom in July 2006
What an excellent location to spend a few days. The atmosphere is rather like sitting at home with your best mate. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast well worth waiting for, it will keep you going all day. If you can get a room with a river view, you will be amazed how lively the place is, with fishing and sail boats coming and going. Liz and Colin really do make you feel welcome and sitting in the bar at night, overlooking the river after a meal in the quaint town is just ideal. We will return. ( Liz you really need to help Colin get over his painful shyness !! . thanks for agreat long weekend Paul and Jan
